I recently purchased a pair of the aviator styled goggles from Nicolas, with brown leather and a brown leather strap, and they are truly a work of exceptional craftsmanship that is both beautiful and functional. They may be a bit steep, but for such a stunningly perfect example of real steampunk goggles, I believe they're well worth it.

All you need do is contact the dear chap. I have done so and enquired about the steampunk goggles...far out of my league I say.
"I still haven't had time to update this section of my website, but i can build the aviator model. ... If you would be interested by purchasing 1 pair price= £90 GBP + airmail £8 for overseas shipping, lead time: beginning of september. I have improved the cable attachment system and can provide also an
elastic strap version, i will work on a leather strap as well soon."

I bought a regular pair of goggles from there last year... they're absolutely indestructable, and very comfy - I highly reccommend atomefabrik.

Additionally, if you had metallic brass enamel spraypaint, you could easily recolour the aluminium goggles, and a thin coat of laquer or varnish would probably prevent the paint from getting worn off. If you had some brown leather and 8mm rivets, you could replace the black leather parts and the elastic headband with your brown leather to make them even more steampunk. Since they goggles are only held together with bolts, you can customise them immensely.

Or you could ask the guy if he could make a standard pair of goggles but with brass instead of aluminium... that would probably be cheaper than getting fully steampunked ones, and the effect would be nicer than spraypaint.

they do look absolutely delicious, but if you're after leather... and not too worried about the brassiness, the glacier goggles look quite nice and theyre actually available to buy! but perhaps theyre a bit to silver...

either way, if the steampunk goggles do become available.. could we have another update on it cos i doubt id wanna check that site every day eugh *rubs eyes*

i like the first (non-green lens) pair a little better. they have a very heavy duty look to them. are those 4-40 socket heads I see there? ;)

Great ideas for products... What I really think the site needs is to more fully utilize the blink and marquee tags to make the product information stand out better.

By the way... Check out the main home page, and try to see if you can even see the link that sends you into the site...

Definitely one of the worst sites I've seen.

That website is beyond terrible. I am amazed that somebody could build a site that bad without the aid of Flash. This guy must be a mad scientist of some kind. And I wish him all the best.

Ah Mr Chuzzlewit - while the site is very distracting and the flashing is indeed tiresome - there is great competition for the title "worst website", and this one doesn't really come close.

I'd greatly appreciate it if the owners of the site noticed the interest in the Steampunk goggles, and created a splinter site of a more sedate tone to accompany it. Just wishful thinking on my part, however.
